There were two deaths in the town

As of today (February 5), Bedford has recorded 66 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 12,084 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were three deaths in Luton (425), six deaths in Central Bedfordshire (502) and two deaths in Bedford (415).

Central Bedfordshire has 80 new Covid cases with a total of 14,097, while Luton recorded 87 with a new total of 17,283.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 28,046 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 70,166 and Milton Keynes has 17,944 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 10,971,047 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 505,993 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 19,114 and now stands at 3,911,573. The number of deaths has risen by 1,014 to 111,264.
